It is stated in Maqâsid Hasana fil-ahadīth Adaira alal Sunnah,
Imâm al-Hasan rađiyAllāhu ánhu narrates, whoever hears ash’haduanna Muhammadar-Rasūlullâh being said and says, marhabam bihabībi wa qurratu aynī Muhammadi bin Abdillâh (Welcome be to my beloved! [Sayyiduna] Muhammad şallAllāhu álayhi wa sallam son of Abdullâh rađiyAllāhu ánhu the coolness of my eyes). After reading this, if one kisses his thumbs and rubs them on his eyes, then he will never be blind and never will his eyes hurt.
